3 Rainy Day Play Solutions For Your Little One's Sand and Water Table
Are you tired of being asked continuously if the sand and water table may come out of storage?
It is such a pity when your little ones aren't able to play outside the house with their sand and water table, particularly when they have lots of fun and can set their imagination on creative overdrive. Everybody wants to keep their little ones contented and it's so pleasant for us to see them have fun and experience something totally new. So, perhaps you should bring your children's sand and water table in the house?
When you try these ideas and strategies for different ways by which your youngster may use their sand and water table, not only will they be able to spend playtime with probably one of their favourite toys in winter and on rainy days, but also will learn through play and, additionally, keep warm by playing inside the house:
1 Sand and water tables don't only have to be used with sand and water. You'll be able to put rice, pasta, dried beans or peas in it too. Many children love to use kitchen utensils, such as ladles, cups, spoons, measuring jugs and any other thing you can find, to measure and pour the rice or pasta.
It's possible that your children will love role-play and would be delighted for the opportunity to 'make' you a meal, especially if it's pasta or something you normally serve at mealtimes. This role reversal, of your son or daughter 'cooking your meal' is usually fun for both of you.
Not only will these alternatives to sand allow your child to discover different textures, they will have the chance to use their imagination.
Maybe they will delight in concealing their dinosaurs or farm animals and digging in the rice to uncover them.
You may want to try concealing sultanas or dried fruit, covered with tin foil, and invite your child try to find edible ‘treasure'. Depending on the age of your children, you might want to introduce extra rules making it more difficult to get the treasure, like they could only use a spoon, or has to be blindfolded and may only feel the way to the treasure.
When you can get your kids away at the end of your play session, do not concern yourself with wasting the rice or pasta - simply store it for the next day, because this is something your little one is bound to want to do frequently.
Alternatively, when you are finished with the beans, rice, or pasta, you could use it for arts and crafts. One example is that your youngster can thread the dried pasta to produce a necklace or some other item of jewellery. It could be utilized to make a collage, or painted and used to assist in counting and number games.
2 Should you have a waterproof surface or plastic sheet which you can use to protect a floor, your youngster may still experience water play indoors. To provide a treat, you are able to a tiny bit of bubble bath to the water so that your child can play with the frothy bubbles.
Ladles and cups make great gadgets to scoop the bubbles and make ‘bubble mountains'.
Also, you can add your toddler's usual water toys when they are having fun with water indoors, for them to enjoy lots of the fun they might normally associate with outdoor water play.
3 Those that do not mind a certain amount of mess, there's a great idea which will really please your toddler. In the event you haven't got a tiled floor, or other waterproof surface, you might need to put down a protective sheet, but your youngster's fun will make the effort worthwhile!
Make some jelly, using the normal packets of jelly which you may purchase from the supermarket. Based on the measurements of your sand and water table, you might want to make a few packets, or possibly even make a couple of different colours and place one colour within the ‘sand' compartment and the other in the ‘water' compartment.
After the jelly has set, mix it with a fork or spoon to separate the mixture a little bit and pour it inside the sand and water table.
Cover up plastic dinosaurs or farm animals and your child is going to have their personal ‘jelly swamp' to them entertained for a long time.
You can always save a bit of jelly for your youngster to enjoy later.
The texture of jelly and ‘messy factor' make this a proper treat for toddlers and older kids!

What to have for lunch on this wet rainy day?
Its a very dark/overcast rainy day today (lovely!!) and its lunch time where i am...does anyone have any lunch ideas to suit the day...(something that wont take long...i only have an hour...) thanks!
you'd probably need something hot like hungry jacks or pizza. my favourite though on any day would be KFC. i know the chicken has some fat in it, but it is quite yummy, and there's always something else to try at KFC like popcorn chicken or a regular twister combo upsized, or a burger.
