Another well written novel by Patricia Cornwell in the Scarpetta Novel series. Patricia Cornwell brings Scapetta together with Marino, Benton, and Lucy with the usual intimate way only she can. This I suppose is Scapetta's story...
This novel is the eighteenth Scarpetta novel and is literally a port of the dead and the deaths are mounting, as a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past combines with the high tech highway on which she now finds herself. In the beginning of her professional career, when she accepted a scholarship from the Air Force to pay off her medical school debt, Scarpetta found herself ensnared in a gruesome case of what seemed to be not only vicious, but a racially motivated hate crimes against two Americans in South Africa. Now more than 20 years and many career successes later, her secret military ties have drawn her to Dover Air Force Base, where she had been immersed in a training fellowship to master the art of CT-assisted virtual autopsy. A procedure t he White House has mandated that she introduce into the private sector.
As the chief of the new Cambridge Forensic Center in Massachusetts, a joint venture of the state and federal governments and MIT, and Harvard, Scarpetta is confronted with a case that could shut down her new facility and ruin her personally and professionally. A young man drops dead, apparently from a cardiac arrhythmia, eerily close to Scarpetta's new Cambridge home, but when his body is examined he may have been alive when he was sipped inside a pouch and locked inside the Center's cooler. When 3-D radiology scans reveal more shocking details about the internal injuries unlike any Scarpetta has ever seen , ones that suggest the possibility of a conspiracy to cause mass casualties she realizes that she is fighting a cunning, cruel, and invisible enemy. I am a fan of Patricia Cornwell and Beverly Connor. Mainly the Scarpetta and Fallon series.?
I'm looking for recommendations of similar books that revolve around female forensic anthropologists or stories involving a woman as the main player dealing with murders, mystery, politics, and everything else included in these two brilliant series!

There is the Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs. These are the books that the TV series Bones is based upon and will have plenty of forensic science.

Also try the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson, which surrounds a group of 4 women in San Francisco (a homicide detective, a coroner, an attorney and a journalist) that solve murders.
